Zone 8 Issue Three

The third issue of my zine Zone 8 is complete! The latest issue is an illustrated guide of my favorite things from this past summer. It was a delightful summer even though it was a hot one, I got to see so many amazing butterflies! I also enjoyed many refreshing beverages and treats, you kind of have to treat yourself when its 100 out with 85% humidity. The go-to treat this summer was sharing Van Leeuwen Ice cream with Matt, all the flavors we have tried so far have not been disappointing! Did you know they now have a shop here in Charlotte. Also, if you want some joy in your mail box let me know and I will send you the latest Issue of Zone 8!

Last Days of Summer

The summer went by so fast this year. I am actually excited that fall is on it’s way and it happens on September 22nd, if you want to mark your calendars. I am working on my summer issue of Zone 8 now, which is kind of a recap of my summer. I wanted to share this Sun Paper Collage I did for one of the spreads, I really liked the way it turned out. I could cut paper into shapes all day long, it is so relaxing. And don’t even get me started on how much fun gluing down the shapes onto paper is!

Zone 8 | Spring 2025

I recently finished the Spring edition of my zine Zone 8. It features lots of nature photography, Spring in the south is one of my favorite times of year! The weather is amazing and all the plants start to come back to life. Also included in this issue are drawings from my sketchbook done during the winter and Spring. I thought I would share a biscuit recipe too, I was surprised how easy they are to make. You can take a virtually flip through a condensed version of the zine here. In two days it will be summer! After 8 years here in the Southeast, I have realized that it’s best not to fight the heat and instead roll with it.
